This is a short blog with behind the scenes photos of my client Sara Simms. Sara is a professional DJ, who shares her gifts and talents throughout the cities of Toronto, L.A. and the U.K. (just to name a few).  It's important for Sara to look the part when playing a DJ set and that's where I come in.  These are photos from her DJ tutorial video shoot, filmed in the Greater Toronto Area.
The Look
Since this was a video tutorial I didn't want to go overboard with makeup, I wanted to keep Sara's look natural with her signature bold red lip and winged liner. I gave her a flawless complexion with matte finish and bold brows to frame her face.

I used soft shimmery neutral tones for her eyeshadow and created a bold winged liner using a liquid liner pen.

During  filming of the tutorial I was able to sit back and learn some cool techniques and DJ scratches. Some of the scratches Sara and DJ Stutter demonstrated were:
Baby scratch, The Chirp, Fades, Drags, Tares, Flair (invented by DJ Flair, One Click Flair (invented by DJ T Styles), Crab scratch, lasers and stabs.

My favorite scratch is the 'Transformer' made famous by DJ Cash Money and DJ Jazzy Jeff in 1985-1986.

It goes a little something like this!
